Case Study: Providing a safe pair of hands in the integrator seat

business growth case study Nov 13, 2024

Excite Safety was founded in 2011 with a vision of not only preventing injuries by making workplaces safer but making safety accessible and most of all exciting!  From this simple vision Excite Safety has gone on to be a fully-fledged safety consultancy with experienced team members and a dedicated training centre in the central Sutherland Shire suburb of Caringbah in New South Wales, Australia.

The Challenge

Excite Safety had implemented EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System®). The implementation was tracking well, so much so that previous issues that weren’t known to the leadership team were being uncovered and were being addressed quickly.  Then, a curveball emerged with the incumbent integrator departing after being offered a dream role in a much larger organisation.   After a few months, the remaining leadership team found they were being spread thin by wearing multiple hats and while EOS was working and their implementer was incredible, there was definitely an integrator shaped hole in the organisation.    They were in need of someone with complimentary set of skills and capabilities to balance and support the Visionary and focus on the delivery of everything Excite Safety.

‘Thanks to EOS, we were starting to see some significant issues that weren’t being addressed across the business. We knew we needed to do something about them, we knew it would be hard, we knew we didn’t have the skill internally, we knew we needed an integrator, we knew we didn’t have the finances for a full time integrator and we didn’t know we know where to find one.’

The solution

Upon referral to Independent Executives, it was discovered that Excite Safety were looking to stabilise their business and drive forward to new goals. With their integrator gone they had a gap to fill, address some significant challenges and they were seeking an alternative to a full-time integrator until they understood what a great integrator looked like.

The result

Once placing an Independent Executives Integrator into Excite Safety, there was immediate effect; the business was quickly stabilised, the EOS tools previously rolled out were solidified and the leadership team commenced driving business growth. Excite safety learnt what great looked like in the integrator seat and then commenced a recruitment process in which the Independent Executives integrator guided them through to a successful selection.

‘We utilised an integrator from Independent Executives over 18 months after our previous integrator moved on. Our Independent Executives Integrator was an invaluable resource to support our business and keep things accountable while we reset our team and found our new Integrator. As Visionary of a small team, having an integrator that could step straight in to share the load was a life saver. If you are running an EOS business and your integrator seat is not yet filled or has been vacated and waiting a replacement, I would recommend engaging Independent Executives to fill that gap.’
